When a new firmware update is available for your model, the Actions tab for your camera under My Cameras will show details on the new firmware
as well as provide the links for over-the-air update and file download (for manual application). The steps below apply to manual download.
Begin by downloading the IMAGE.ZIP file on the ACTIONS Tab for your camera.
**Note: Remove any old downloaded IMAGE.ZIP files first to make sure you have the very latest one. There is no reason to unzip it. The camera accepts a ZIP file normally.
1. Make sure the SD card is empty. (delete anything on it, including any file such as DCIM)
2. Insert the IMAGE.ZIP onto empty SD card (not in any file such as DCIM).
3. Insert 6 or 12 AA fully charged batteries into camera.
4. Insert SD card into camera
5. Turn camera to SETUP, go to Tools Menu, select UPGRADE and then select YES.
6. Wait, and camera will reboot twice during the upgrade then will remain ON (update will take less than 30 sec).
7. Confirm new firmware version in camera menu under Firmware Version matches the version you downloaded.
